Kimono Tales is a compelling fine art photography book that explores identity, vulnerability, and the transformative power of storytelling.
Between 2016 and 2020, photographer Angelo Cricchi invited 113 women from diverse cultures, professions, and walks of life to take part in an intimate photographic experience. Each participant entered the studio, selected one of four traditional Japanese kimonos, and, through the symbolic act of wearing it, embarked on a deeply personal journey of self-expression.
Far more than a portrait collection, Kimono Tales reveals the hidden emotions, memories, and resilience behind every face. The kimono becomes a powerful metaphor—an object capable of unlocking intimate narratives and creating a space where beauty and vulnerability coexist.
A captivating book for collectors of fine art photography, lovers of visual storytelling, and anyone fascinated by the complexity and strength of the human experience.
